Sen. Murray releases inauguration social media guide

Published: January 18, 2013

— Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., has released a social media guide (see graphic at right) for constituents traveling from Washington state to the nation’s capital for the 57th Presidential Inauguration.

The guide provides details on how to stay up-to-date on the latest information from the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC), the United States Secret Service and Murray. Washington state residents are encouraged to share their D.C. experience by tweeting photos using the hashtag, #WAinDC. Murray also will be sharing her experience on Twitter and will be retweeting some of the best constituent tweets and photos throughout the weekend.

The Monday parade is expected to start after the official swearing-in ceremony of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, which is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. The inauguration will be telecast on all major networks Monday, but it’s unclear which stations will include the parade.
