I was stunned to read about the layoff of Sandy Owen, longtime employee of the Benton-Franklin Health District. Sandy's leadership in providing outstanding programs for children and families in Benton and Franklin Counties is unparalleled in the state.
It is outrageous that the district administrator can make such a disastrous move without oversight from the board of health. This decision needs to be reversed!
