A 3-year-old Connell boy died Saturday after being hit by a pickup in a driveway on Krug Road northwest of Connell.

Carson Thomas Clyde was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he died, authorities said. He is the son of Boyd and Nicole Clyde.

The incident happened about 3 p.m. The pickup's driver, a relative, was pulling in and didn't see the toddler, said Franklin County sheriff's Detective Lee Barrow.

He said an investigation found no criminal negligence on the part of the driver, and he described the incident as "strictly an unfortunate accident."

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco is handling funeral arrangements.
