Trenton Nett, Jeremy Nelson and Kevin Del-Angel all won their weights to lead Southridge to first place at the Willy C. Stewart Invitational on Saturday at Foss High in Tacoma.

Nett pinned his way through the 120-pound bracket, finishing with a 38-second stop of Grandview's Jo Jo Cisneros-Valdez. Nelson pinned Thomas DeJohnette of Lincoln in the first period to capture 145.

And Del-Angel kept his torrid pace at 195 with a 34-second pin in the final. That after winning his first two matches in 8 and 34 seconds.

The Suns placed 12 wrestlers and finished about 40 points ahead of second-place Cascade of Everett.

Bryce Overholt finished second at 182. Clayton Detmer (113), Andrew Collins (170) and Marcus French-Surita finished third -- Collins pinning teammate Daryn Harris in the placing match. Manny Casillas (106), Danny Navarro (132), Kory Miller (160) and Luke Davidson (285) finished fourth.

River City Duals: A busy day for Pasco wound up with a seventh-place finish in Post Falls, Idaho.

Pasco downed Timberlake (Idaho) 47-36 in the final of five duals on the day, one that began with a 44-42 upset of eighth-seeded Shadle Park.

"It was pretty good for the kids," Bulldogs coach Jay Covington said of his young squad. "We were nobody, and we did halfway decent."

Brandon Gonzalez (132 pounds), Jackson Fromm (152) and James Debosz (182) all won by pin for Pasco, and Anthony Burroughs notched an 18-2 technical fall at 160.

After beating Shadle, the Bulldogs beat Moscow 42-42 on a pins tiebreaker, then lost to Hermiston 59-22, though there was a major highlight for Pasco as 126-pounder Timmy Martinez posted an 8-2 win over Wyatt Scribner, a runner-up at Tri-State who bumped up from 120.

Martinez was one of four unbeaten wrestlers for the Bulldogs, going 5-0 along with Fromm and Gonzalez. Luis Velasco at 145 finished 3-0.
