Debora S. Rossi will have a booksigning from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 12 at Hastings, 617 S. Ninth St., Walla Walla.

Her book, Millie's Shoes, follows the life of her mother in the 1920s, who was abandoned by her mother and left with strangers who abused her by locking her in an attic, where she was stung by a swarm of bees. Still, she grew to adulthood without bitterness.
