The Young Artists Competition, sponsored by the Mid-Columbia Symphony, is Jan. 19 at Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland.

Student musicians will compete in strings, vocal, piano and woodwinds categories. Overall winners will perform with the symphony at its spring concert.

There is no spectator fee.
