No Christmas banner?

January 9, 2013

STEVE CLARK, Kennewick

I opened up the paper Christmas morning and was shocked and dismayed that we weren't greeted by a hearty "Merry Christmas" boldly displayed as the header on the front page!

Has the Tri-City Herald become so politically correct that it is afraid to call the holiday what it is? Instead we get an article about the "fiscal cliff."

Are you afraid you might offend someone with such a benevolent statement? Or is it the cost of all the red ink it would take? Surely, I hope not!

Tri-City Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
