Girls basketball: Roberts leads Burbank past Warden in SCAC East play

Rachel Roberts’ 19 points, five rebounds and six steals led Columbia (Burbank) to a 65-42 SCAC East road victory Tuesday at Warden.

Harley McBride added 15 points, as the Coyotes had four players in double figures.

Julie Mosqueda added 10 points and seven steals.

Iris Rodriguez finished with 14 points for Warden, which trailed by five at halftime before being outscored 33-15 in the second half.

River View 41, Wahluke 34: Josie Robertson’s 12 points and eight rebounds led the balanced Panthers, who scored nearly half their points in the third quarter of an SCAC East home win.

“The press kind of started working a little bit, and we started getting some turnovers,” River View coach Matt Smith said.

Marleny Garcia led Wahluke with 15 points.

Hermiston 44, Southridge 24: Shyler Sullivan finished with a game-high 11 points, but only three other Southridge players scored in the Suns’ home loss to the Bulldogs.

Gabby Heehn and Heidi Walchli each had eight points for Hermiston, which led 24-10 at halftime.
