Boys basketball: Olson's buzzer beater lifts Liberty Christian past Touchet

Mike Olson drained a 3-pointer as time expired to lead Liberty Christian to a 50-47 Southeast 1B victory over Touchet on Tuesday in Richland.

It was one of five 3-pointers Olson hit on the night, as he scored a game-high 17 points. He also pulled down seven rebounds and made three steals.

“We are fighting off the flu bug and were down a couple of players,” Liberty Christian coach William Keck said. “The guys played really well in the second half of the game.”

Brandon Peterson added 17 points for the Patriots, hitting four 3-pointers.

Hermiston 51, Southridge 50: Spencer Vorheis scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds, as the Suns lost a nonleague home game to the Bulldogs.

Southridge led by three in the fourth quarter, but let the lead slip away and couldn’t rally.
