The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation has donated $80,000 to Washington State University Extension to provide financial education, assistance and services to rural communities in the Mid-Columbia.
Extension offices serving Benton, Franklin, Adams and Grant counties will offer the new services, which include debt management and tax assistance, according to a release.
Residents in rural communities can struggle to receive adequate financial assistance because of distance and poverty.
Residents in Benton and Franklin counties can contact Christina Osmond at cosmond@numericacu.com and Candi Jaeger at c.j@theprosperitycenter.org in Adams and Grant counties to sign up for the classes.
