A mix of rain and snow is expected this weekend in the Tri-Cities as a storm system moves into the Mid-Columbia.
A 30 percent chance of precipitation is forecast today in the Tri-Cities. It could fall as snow at elevations above 600 feet, according to the National Weather Service. Much of the Tri-Cities is at about 400 feet.
The chance of rain and snow will increase to 60 percent between 10 p.m. today and 4 a.m. Sunday with temperatures falling to about 30 degrees. New snow accumulation of about an inch is possible in the Tri-Cities.
Rain or snow could continue to fall until 10 a.m. Sunday.
A series of storms will continue to move across the Mid-Columbia early in the week.
