River's Edge students to compete in Olympia

Published: January 5, 2013

A group of students from River's Edge High School in Richland will be heading to Olympia next week to demonstrate their understanding of the U.S. Constitution.

The school's "We the People" team won a regional competition in mid-November at the Franklin County Courthouse, competing against Delta High and New Horizons high schools, according to a release from the Richland School District. They'll now face schools from around the state on Jan. 12.

Students involved in the "We the People" program perform mock congressional hearings before a panel of judges to show their knowledge of constitutional principles.
