We are thankful some of our children have found employment locally, where they feel confident about establishing homes, families and futures. They see opportunity in a region with a long history of commitment to economic growth and building quality communities.

We need to provide positive messages to young families that they are valued here at home. We need to continue our commitment to building exceptional communities with education, recreation, health care, arts and cultural opportunities that also attract industry and additional employment.

We celebrate this New Year as new grandparents. We realize the critical importance of having three new elementary schools built in Pasco. While the space is badly needed now, it happens that our expanding family will need these schools by the time the proposed construction will be completed.

Register to vote online at www.sos.wa.gov/elections or at the courthouse. Your ballots will be mailed to you. Call the school district at 546-2686 or visit www.psd1.org for bond details. It is up to you to mark you ballot yes, provide postage and return the ballot before Feb. 12.
