At least five people are dead after a passenger bus crashed on icy Interstate 84 east of Pendleton this morning. It is the second fatality on Interstate 84 today. Oregon State Police said the bus crashed through a guardrail, apparently on Cabbage Hill, and went down an embankment a couple hundred feet before coming to rest. The bus crash sometime before 10:30 a.m., according to the state patrol. Officers did not have a total number of possible dead or injured early this afternoon. They also did not know how many people were on the bus or what company was operating the bus.
