CHAD CRAWFORD, Richland
Today I was driving to Kennewick down the bypass highway from Van Giesen street. I came up to the Duportail street light and noticed that the light was not working. I pulled over and immediately called the Richland Police Department.
The lady who answered the phone said the department would send somebody out there to direct traffic. An hour later, I was on my way home, and noticed the light was still out and no one was there directing traffic. While stopped at the street light in the right hand lane, a car came flying through the intersection next to me and almost hit a car going through the other direction.
I know with the high winds the police were probably busy, but this was something that needed to be addressed. I am very disappointed with the Richland Police Department for not taking action on what could had been a fatal situation.
