Columbia Basin women top Linn-Benton at Chemeketa Holiday Tournament

CBC women 52, Linn-Benton 42: Sierra Higheagle’s 14 points and eight rebounds led the Hawks to a victory the Chemeketa Holiday Tournament in Salem, Ore. on Friday.

The Hawks shot just 35.1 percent from the field, but held Linn-Benton to 29.8 percent shooting including 2-of-19 from behind the 3-point line.

Kelsey Yenney added 13 points for the Hawks, while Keiosha Avery-Winchester had seven points and five rebounds.

CBC will face Lane at 5 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals of the tournament. Lane defeated Everett 117-60. In other games, Wenatchee Valley defeated Highline 69-57.
