Pets group receives $10,000 match

BY THE TRI-CITY HERALDDecember 25, 2012

Prevent Homeless Pets received a generous offer this month from an anonymous donor pledging a $10,000 matching donation.

"What that means is through Dec. 31 every dollar donated to PHP will be matched by this very generous donor," said LeeAnna WhisperingHorse, a volunteer with PHP. "One dollar literally means two toward Prevention Homeless Pets' much needed goal of service for nearly 5,000 animals for 2013."

Anyone who would like to donate to the nonprofit, which plans to open a permanent location in Benton City in 2013, to provide affordable spay and neutering for pets of low-income families and for unowned cats and dogs, can do so by sending a check to: Prevent Homeless Pets, P.O. Box 3011, Richland, WA, 99352. Or, donations can be made via Paypal at
