A body found near the intersection of highways 730 and 395 was identified Monday as a Umatilla man. And authorities are calling his death a homicide.

A medical examiner from Portland was expected to perform an autopsy Monday, according to a news release from the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office.

The cause of his death was not released.

A passerby found Luis Jaime Diaz, 32, on Sunday. Umatilla/Morrow County Major Crime Team is conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
