Wow, Three Rivers Community Foundation donors and its board of directors had impressive accomplishment this year. Forty-seven programs were awarded grants to assist local nonprofit agencies in helping with the arts, social services and animals.
Grants covered everything from housing and mentoring to knitting caps for people going through radiation therapy. Carrie Green, the foundation's executive director, talked about how each of these programs is helping people become more resilient and how agencies are collaborating to provide the most efficient and effective use of donations.
As board president of Elijah Family Homes, I know our services can be summed up with the phrase, "It's about the kids." That also could be the motto for the majority of the grants Three Rivers provided. Directly or indirectly, funds will support positive outcomes for children. The work of Three Rivers Community Foundation is another reason the Tri-Cities is a wonderful place to live!
