Jared Hoey scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half as the Liberty Christian boys awoke from a scoreless second quarter to down visiting Garfield-Palouse 52-43 in Southeast 1B play Monday.
The game was postponed from Dec. 7, four days after the Patriots won the 8-man football state title.
Seven of LCs nine players also played football, which perhaps accounted for their cool demeanor after a dreadful second quarter.
The second half, we just calmed ourselves down, and we got a huge half from Jared, said Liberty Christian coach William Keck. He lit it up.
