The Richland boys basketball team sure knows how to bounce back from a loss.

A day after taking their first loss of the year against Kamiakin, the Bombers thundered back Saturday against Pasco with a 90-71 Mid-Columbia Conference win at Art Dawald Gym.

Richland scored 29 points in the first quarter to grab an 11-point first quarter lead and then added 25 more in the second quarter for a 54-30 halftime advantage.

"We just jumped on them. I think we were 4-of-8 on 3s in the first half, most of them in the first quarter," Bombers coach Earl Streufert said. "Our biggest lead was 28, and we pretty much held that led the rest of the way."

Nathan Streufert led Richland with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and also added six assists. Payton Radliff chipped in 14 points, five assists and four steals.

Efrain Cardoza and DeDrain Miller combined for 40 points to lead the Bulldogs.

"(Miller) is quicker than a hiccup," Streufert said of the senior transfer guard.

Kamiakin 51, Chiawana 47: The Braves outscored the Riverhawks 15-6 in the final quarter to win on the road.

Cooper Clyde had 12 points for Kamiakin, and Javan Williams grabbed seven rebounds.

Chiawana got 15 points from Jesse Briones and 12 points and nine rebounds from Wesley Henderson, but the Riverhawks lost their momentum after leading by eight in the third quarter.

"We have to start understanding how to win close games," Chiawana coach Chad Herron said.

Walla Walla 49, Kennewick 48: Spencer Locati hit a game-winning free throw in the final seconds to lift the Blue Devils to an MCC road win over the Lions.

Kennewick fell behind 32-19 at the half but made a gallant comeback effort to tie the score at 48 with 54 seconds left.

"Mitch (Mueller) hit some buckets at the end, and we did a nice job getitng some turnovers," Lions coach Bradyn Leyde said. "We just came up empty on a couple possessions at the end and put them on the line."

Eric Klicker scored 17 points to lead Walla Walla.
