This is the season for giving and we at St. Vincent de Paul in Pasco are amazed at the innovative ways Mid-Columbia businesses come up with to give back to their community.

Dr. James Hansen and his whole Family Dental staff recently gave up their day off to travel to our St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and Community Services facility in Pasco to volunteer their time to register new families, pack food boxes, sort and hang clothes and distribute food, clothing and household items to those who need a helping hand.

But they also brought with them new toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to pass out to those who came in for assistance. We may take those items for granted, but they sure created lots of smiles on the faces of children and their parents.

We thank Dr. Hansen and his staff for caring about their community and giving back in such a creative way! And, this kind of giving is reflective of our whole Tri-Cities. We are truly blessed to live in this part of Washington State!
