Why are gas prices in the Tri-Cities so high compared to the rest of the state? When you could buy gas in Washington for $3.05, most stations in the Tri-Cities were charging $3.59. The rest of the state has kept dropping their prices significantly over the last month, but we have not seen those price drops in the Tri-Cities.
We only have two or three stations in the entire Tri-Cities that have been at or below the state average in the last month, the rest have been 10 to 20 cents higher according to Gasbuddy.com.
