JOY BACH, Kennewick
I waited until my daughter from Georgia came for Thanksgiving for us to visit the Southridge 9/11 Memorial in Kennewick. An added bonus was we had guests from Germany who went with us. The memorial is wonderful. Seeing the bent and charred metal is very touching.
That's why it was a little unsettling when one of our guests asked if it was OK for the flag to be frayed like that. I'm patriotic. And, no, it's not OK.
Is there a fund to replace the flag as needed? I would definitely donate.
