Grandview's Parrish reaches 1,000-point mark

December 5, 2012

Grandview senior Payton Parrish became just the second girls basketball player in school history to cross the 1,000-point career mark Tuesday.

Parrish poured in 35 points in the Greyhounds’ 69-63 overtime victory over Sunnyside, which tied her own school record. She also scored 35 in a game against Toppenish last season.

Kinzi Poteet is the only other girl in Grandview High history to cross the 1,000-point plateau, finishing with 1,207 points in 2009. Poteet also scored 35 points in a game in 2009.
