Pasco native Jeremy Bonderman, 30, is reportedly attempting a comeback to Major League Baseball, according to a posting by CBS baseball writer Jon Heyman on Twitter.

Bonderman last pitched in the majors in 2010 for the Detroit Tigers, finishing 8-10 with a 5.53 ERA.

According to the tweet, Bonderman is expected to pick soon from a few different spring training invitations.

There has been speculation in the national media the past month that the Mariners might offer Bonderman a chance to pitch in Seattle, but those rumors could not be confirmed.

Bonderman pitched eight seasons for the Tigers, compiling a 67-77 record with a 4.89 ERA.

Bonderman was born in Kennewick and went to Pasco High. He was a first-round draft pick by the Oakland A's in 2001.
