1983: Kennewick's high-scoring playoff run came to an end as the Lions lost to Bellevue 17-14 in the AAA championship at Kingbowl VII in front of a championship-game record 35,646 fans at the Kingdome. Kennewick was averaging 45 points in three playoff wins, but a pair of turnovers led to two Bellevue touchdowns in the Lions' lowest scoring output of the season. Todd Kinzel scored on a 1-yard run and John Mansfield had a late 15-yard TD pass from Kennewick.

1983: Richland's Kevin Presto scored 29 points, and the Bombers ran away from Gonzaga Prep 76-47 in their second boys basketball win over a Greater Spokane League team in as many nights.
