Merry Christmas

BENJAMIN WOODWARD, Pasco

With the holiday season upon us, many people are excited to celebrate the season and Christmas. Because of the excitement, people speak out to others more and try to spread holiday cheer. Is it appropriate to say, "Merry Christmas?" Some may take offense to this, but that is unnecessary.

Regardless of your own religious beliefs, religion is deeply rooted in America. Our country's foundation is based on the religious and moral beliefs of the Founding Fathers. Everyone should support religious tolerance.

There are many different religious holidays throughout the year, and whether one celebrates them or not, we should all be able to support those who do. I am fine with being wished "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Holidays" because then I am able to share with others the joy and excitement that they are feeling. But for me personally, I will wish you a "Merry Christmas."
