Kennewick Irrigation District election Dec. 11

BY THE TRI-CITY HERALDNovember 30, 2012

The annual election for Kennewick Irrigation District directors will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 at KID's office, 12 W. Kennewick Ave.

For Position 2, candidates include incumbent Patrick McGuire and James Wade, a frequent critic of KID's assessments that he says favor agricultural customers at the expense of residential property owners. The position is for three years.

For Position 4, candidates include Dean Dennis, who recently was appointed by Benton County commissioners; Penny Hermanson, who is married to board member McGuire; and Dale Walter, who was appointed to the board in 2008.

Any qualified district voter who certifies that he or she can't conveniently be present on election day may vote by absentee ballot. A ballot and form of certificate of qualifications will be provided when voters make a written request to the KID secretary/manager.

Absentee ballots issued for requests received after 5 p.m. Thursday must be picked up in person from KID's office.

Absentee ballot request forms are available from www.kid.org, at the district office or by calling 586-9111.
