Fundraising success

RICK MILLIKIN, Richland

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of Tri-City residents. The Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation recently held its 12th Annual Autumn Affair fundraiser. More than 340 attendees and sponsors donated over $200,000 to support families and individuals going through difficult life-changing circumstances.

For the past six years, CH2M HILL has provided the title sponsorship for this event and HAPO Community Credit Union once again surprised attendees with a $30,000 donation. Money raised stays local and allows the Tri-Cities Cancer Center to offer numerous free-of-charge services to individuals in our region who are undergoing cancer treatment and preventative care.

Our community is blessed with world-class cancer care and primary care physicians and nurses who make the Tri-Cities their home and work seamlessly with the Tri-City Cancer Center and our partners -- Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Kennewick General Hospital, and Lourdes Health Network, Columbia Basin Hematology & Oncology.

Donations from the Tri-Cities community helps make these free services available.

As the foundation's president, I personally would like to thank each and every individual and business who gives so generously of their resources. Your commitment to our community is amazing.
