Guilt by association

ZELMA MILLER, Pasco

It is no wonder our political parties are in such a mess. One recent letter to the editor was from a voter who marks her ballot depending on the letter behind the candidate's name.

So, she has made the decision to vote for a less-qualified person for a state office because of the letter behind his name. This decision came about because of comments made by candidates outside of our state that she attributes to the local candidate. It makes me wonder how many candidates she did not vote for in our state because of President Clinton's action with an intern and Vice President Biden's foot-in-mouth disease, or the others across country of the Democratic Party who make crazy comments?

Tri-City Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
