I believe the election of the president, vice president, etc. should be a true vote by the people. The way voting is conducted now is not a popular vote by the people, and the last minute campaigning is not to garner votes because those voting in the electoral college have already made up their minds. It appears that citizens' votes are just a ploy to make people think their votes count.
