PORTLAND -- Several Oregon ski areas are open for Thanksgiving.
Timberline Ski Area on Mount Hood planned to open most of its lower mountain lifts Wednesday.
A Portland newspaper reported that about a foot of snow fell there Monday night, bringing the base to 27 inches. Several chairlifts are expected to operate through the holiday period if weather permits.
Mount Bachelor spokesman Andy Goggins said that ski area will open today.
