Richland grad to perform in Macy's parade today

Santino Fontana, a Richland High graduate, will perform at the 86th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City as part of the cast of Broadway's production of Cinderella.

The parade is from 9 a.m. to noon today and will air on NBC TV.

Fontana portrays Prince Toper in a new production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, which officially opens at the Broadway Theatre on Feb. 24.

Since moving to New York City in 2007, Fontana has starred in several plays, earning the 2010 Drama Desk Award for best featured actor in a play for his role in Brighton Beach Memoirs.

His parents, Ernie and Sharon Fontana, still live in Richland.A
