Richland's tree-lighting ceremony is 5 p.m. Friday at John Dam Plaza.

Mid-Columbia Mastersingers will provide entertainment, and Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance. A free holiday variety show at the Richland Players Theatre is at 7 p.m.

Officials from Toys for Tots and Second Harvest will be accepting donations. Knight Street and Lee Boulevard between George Washington Way and Jadwin Avenue will be closed to vehicles from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the city said. Detours will be set up.
