TUKWILA, Wash. -- For the first time since 2007, Walla Walla will leave the NWAACC soccer championships in Tukwila without a title.
The Warriors fell 1-0 to Peninsula in the men's championship at Starfire Soccer complex, giving up a goal to Alex Martinez in the 87th minute.
Walla Walla coach Chad Bodnar, a former Pasco standout and coach, won the last three NWAACC women's championships and added a men's title in 2008. Bodnar, who coaches both the men and women's teams, has put a team in the NWAACC title game for the last eight seasons.
Peninsula won its second men's title in the last three years.
