Royal 61, Cle Elum/Roslyn 27: The Knights secured their first trip to the 1A semifinals since 2008 and 13th in school history, as Alex Myrick ran for four touchdowns and passed for four more in a quarterfinal win over the Warriors on Saturday.

Royal (12-0) will face SCAC East rival River View (11-1) on Saturday at Lampson Stadium for a berth in the state championship. Game time has not been decided but will likely be paired with the 2A semifinal in an afternoon doubleheader.

Cle Elum/Roslyn got on the board first when Tyler Crutchman connected with Griffin Alexander on an 8-yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0.

Myrick then scored on a 46-yard run and hit Laddie Goroski with a 49-yard score to give Royal a 14-7 lead.

Mitchell Milsap ran for an 11-yard touchdown to cut the Knights' lead to 14-13 before Royal scored 27 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.

"This was a good one to get by. Their rushing attack is pretty impressive," Knights coach Wiley Allred said. "(Brady) Dixon blocked a punt in the second quarter that turned the tide, and our offensive line really moved them well all game long."

Royal topped River View 39-7 during a Week 5 matchup in Royal City, but Allred doesn't expect another blowout.

"I figured they'd get it done, and we'd meet in the semis," Allred said. "They've got a lot of talent and explosive speed. They're the scariest team we've played this year."
