High winds in Tri-City forecast Monday

High winds are expected Monday, creating gusts of up to 65 miles per hour in some areas of Eastern Washington and Oregon.

A low-pressure system moving into Eastern Washington and Oregon will produce gusts from the south, according to a release from the National Weather Service office in Pendleton.

In the Tri-Cities sustained winds of 25 to 28 mph are expected, with gusts up to 43 mph. Monday night the wind will die down some, but gusts up to 34 mph are expected.

Today winds of 10 to 13 mph are expected in the Tri-Cities, building to 16 to 21 mph tonight with gusts of 31 mph.
