They need to divide the electoral up in each state by districts instead of using the whole state. This state is an excellent example, the majority of the people in Eastern Washington vote the total opposite of the people on the western side of the state. That would be the only fair way of doing things if they continue to use the electoral system otherwise the total popular vote is the way to go.
