Ice Harbor Dam's navigation lock near Burbank reopened for commercial river traffic this week after contractors removed rocks and earthen materials from the downstream approach.
The buildup of debris posed a potential hazard to boats, according to the Army Corps of Engineers. About 430 cubic yards of rocks and earthen material were removed from the lock approach.
Underwater surveys were conducted Thursday and the lock reopened to recreational boats Friday morning.
