Kennewick's Sandstone Cafe clinched a "souper" win Friday night during the annual Beggars' Banquet, a fundraiser for Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery and My Friends Place, a homeless shelter for teens.

The restaurant's Italian Sausage & Kale with Potato Soup earned the title of "2012 Best Soup in the Tri-Cities."

Tri-City restaurants donated 10 pots of their best soup, the public sampled each one and voted for their favorite.

The runner-up was a Southwestern Tortilla Soup from Tri-Tech Skills Center in Kennewick.

The soup-tasting event and auction was at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.
