Orchard Rite to match donations to foundation

BY THE TRI-CITY HERALDNovember 16, 2012

Orchard Rite recently announced that it will match donations to the Washington Apple Education Foundation with its Donate A Bin fundraiser.

Donors make cash donations to the foundation representing approximate values of actual bins of fruit.

The total amount collected, plus the match, will be announced Dec. 3 during the Washington State Horticultural Association annual meeting in Yakima.

The Washington Apple Education Foundation, the charitable arm of the tree fruit industry, has provided more than $2.5 million to college-bound students and to programs supporting academic success since the foundation was created in 1994.

Donations must be made by Nov. 22 to be eligible for the match. Donations can be made online at www.waef.org under the Donate A Bin link or by calling the WAEF office at 509-663-7713. Orchard Rite will match the first $5,000 given.
