PASCO, Wash. -- The Rev. Ken Jones, consulting minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Yakima, will be the guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church in Pasco.
His sermon is titled "On the Eighth Day, God Created..." In the wake of the United States Supreme Court decision in 2010, there's been a continued debate of corporations as "persons" and campaign contributions are "speech."
Politics aside, both raise questions of a religious and spiritual nature. What is a "person" and what are people for? What is the source of our legal rights? Are rights endowed to us by a creator or do we create them?
The church is at 2819 W. Sylvester St. in Pasco. All are welcome.
