2007: Bracken Sorensen, Steve Swanson and Devin Jones each had two interceptions, and the Southridge defense collected nine turnovers and held Kamiakin to 86 yards rushing in a 20-6 playoff upset at Lampson Stadium. It was the first ever state win for the Suns, who started the season 0-4 but reeled off seven straight wins to reach the state quarterfinals.
1997: Kennewick's Tim Brown, who placed fourth at state, was named the Big Nine Conference cross country boys runner of the year. A pair of Kamiakin runners also made the first-team cut: sophomore Matt Topping, who placed seventh at state, and Travis King.
