A Kennewick moving company was fined $5,000 by Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission and has been ordered to stop providing moving services.

Perfection Moving, owned by Robert Garcia, was providing in-state residential moving services without having the required permit with the state and insurance, according to the news release.

Garcia did not appear at the state hearing, according to the news release.

Garcia does have a city business permit specifically for moving services, said Evelyn Lusignan, Kennewick's customer service manager. However, the city will begin the process to revoke his business license based on the information from the state.

He will be sent a notice of the violation and be given 10 days to fix the problem with the state. If he can't show proof of the fix, the license will be revoked, she said.
