CBC volleyball ends season with win over Big Bend

Kelly Madsen had 13 kills, and Michelle McCary tallied 17 digs as the Columbia Basin College volleyball team won its season finale, beating Big Bend Community College in three sets Wednesday in Moses Lake.

CBC (14-17 overall, 6-8 East Region) finished a spot out of the NWAACC playoffs in fifth place.

“That’s a big improvement from last year,” CBC coach Mike Baker said. “We doubled our win total from last year in the East Region, which is typically the toughest region.”

Set scores: 25-20, 25-17, 25-17. CBC—Kelly Madsen 13 kills, 3 aces; Samantha Brewer 8 kills; Yessica Diaz 8 kills, 14 digs; Carolyn Smith 30 assists; Michelle McCary 2 aces, 17 digs; Amanda Colegrove 3 blocks. Big Bend—Katelyn Riste 14 digs; McKall Miller 12 assists, 12 digs, 5 kills.
