PNNL geologist to speak Nov. 20 in Richland on nuclear issues

Frannie Smith, a geologist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, will discuss geology in relation to nuclear waste management Nov. 20 in Richland.

Smith researches topics related to nuclear energy and the environment, including investigating processes important to used fuel storage in different environments and modeling waste form behavior.

She will speak at 7 p.m. at a meeting of the Eastern Washington Section of the American Nuclear Society at the Shilo Inn. There is no charge to attend her talk, but those who attend the pre-speech dinner will be charged $22 and must make reservations by 4 p.m. Friday by emailing ANS.EWS.Treasurer@gmail.com.
