Are they crazy?
According to an article in the Nov. 2 Herald, the United Nations is going to spend $2 billion to renovate the 39-story U.N. building in New York City. What? The internet confirms this and states that the U.S. will pick up 22 percent of the cost, or $440 million.
A better idea? Use our money to demolish the building, sell the land to get our costs back and tell the U.N. to take a hike. In recent years, the U.N. has become a soapbox for every nut in the world to badmouth the United States. Years ago, the U.N. appeared to have a world peace purpose. Not now. Therefore, if one penny of my tax money goes to the U.N., it us too much.
