November 3, 2012 - Paul Micenko of CA Carey Corp. of Issaquah uses an air-powered chisel Friday morning to remove concrete encasing of an expansion joint in the northbound lanes Highway 395 of the blue bridge. "We are doing everything we can to stay on schedule, but we realized there could be some unknowns that wouldn't be identified until after the existing expansion joints have been removed," said Moe Davari, project engineer with Washington State Department of Transportation. Davari said additional work has been identified after crews began removing the first of three existing 28-year-old assemblies, so more workers and equipment were called to the job site.
