Before you cast your ballot, consider this: Under I-1240, your neighborhood school could be converted to a charter school by a slim majority of parents or teachers of the school. A charter school operator could take over the whole school, fire the entire staff and use the school building, rent free. The charter school could operate completely independent of the local school board or any elected officials. All of this would be legal under I-1240. Vote no!
